Your cupcakes look amazing. You are making it very hard for me to keep my new year's resolution of cutting back on sweets. If you ever move to the States- specifically, Nashville, Tennessee- we must collaborate.

Right around New Year's Eve, I heard a piece on NPR about the 'ball' in Times Square. Apparently as of this year, it has now been modernized with LED lights and is going to be up year-round. It will be illuminated to fit the various occasions (red for Valentine's Day, green for St. Patrick's Day, etc). There were many featured in the story who expressed their disappointment, since it would take away from the 'special-ness' at New Year's Eve. I tend to agree, but apparently it will save them a lot of money- which I suppose everyone is trying to do these days.

This might be among the most alarming economy news (to me)... the doors are closing for Cottage Living and Country Home. Really, really sad news. I thought they both did an excellent job of balancing the line between traditional and modern, and always had at least a couple of stories I was interested in. just in...

First saw the news here, then confirmed it here. Michael S. Smith is the chosen decorator for the Obama's! I can't wait to see pictures of what he does with their section of the White House. I think I was hoping for a slightly edgier choice, but I'm sure he will do a beautiful job.
