and speaking of Kate... (gen says)

From Gen (who apologizes for her long absence, things have been busy!):

"I just came across an old issue of the World of Interiors which features one of my all-time favorite homes---Kate Spade's apartment in NYC's Upper East Side. I am a HUGE fan of all things 'Kate.' She has a knack for combining the perfect amount of vintage inspiration- re-imagined with a modern twist, in just the color that I am craving!

I think I could be quite happy in a complete Kate Spade world.

Check our her huge sale -and my hostess outfit of choice (for my fantasy "Kate Spade" dinner party, of course). "

color crush

I seem to be leaning toward a color palette inspired by my beloved Orla Kiely bag. My home has traces of these colors as well, but I'm a bit too schizophrenic with color (in love with ALL of them), so I'm having a hard sticking to a defined palette. Nonetheless, I'd love to do something with these colors...a party, a house, a wedding...

tiny kitchen entertaining

Domino offers tips on how to entertain with a tiny apartment kitchen here. Personally, when I lived in NYC the thought of having people over was very unappealing...all because we had no dishwasher (and two roommates who hated doing dishes). The glasses would sit there for weeks while we all had a standoff as to who had to actually do them!
