Some items on my 9 year-old’s wishlist 1… I’m not sure what makes these water bottles special, but she sure is crazy about them (here or here) 2… After coveting her brother’s sports slides for awhile, she’s decided she needs a pair of her own (here) 3… Desk accessories are always a hit, polka dot calculator here 4… Just when I thought she’d read every dog series imaginable (here) 5, 6… Adah loves athleisure as much as her mom (here and here) 7, 8, 9 … Donut pen (here), Le pen in her favorite color (here), and these double-sided pens (here) are her favorite. There is a brush tip on one end for ‘fancy’ writing. 10… emoji-anything seems to be a hit with most girls in this age group (stickers here); don’t forget the emoji gumballs from her birthday if you are looking for stocking stuffers (here) 11... She would actually prefer turquoise Uggs, but since those seem to be an imagined possibility; she thinks these gold boots are pretty sweet too (here) 12… A mint-turquoise football (her favorite color) will please any athlete (here) 13… Gldn jewelry is among my favorite low-priced jewelry line, and have lots of great options (here) 14… An oldie but goodie, I know she would love to have the ‘Magic 8ball’ under the tree (here) 15… A fun display item for her desk area (here) 16… Dog tape? Yes, please (here) 17… Yes, another water bottle. Not sure if she is looking to start a collection, but she seriously goes crazy over these. Birthday season is in full swing at the Malone house. Our almost 9 year-old is still into dogs, reading and sports! Together, we brainstormed a party favor that would be more earth-friendly (no single-use items or something easily disposed of) and within her color palette of turquoise, mint and gold. We are both happy with how it turned out! See sources, below.

1… Emoji gumballs (in 24 packs of 5) and dog stickers were ordered from here 2… We decided to buy personalized pencils from Etsy (here is the seller we used) with the two phrases ‘BE THE SPARK THAT LIGHTS THE WORLD’ and ‘EVERY DREAM BEGINS WITH A DREAMER’. We went with Etsy because we were able to order in small batches (a total of 40 pencils) 3… Party balloon and heart stickers came from here, though you might need to go in-store to purchase (I was only able to find the stars online) 4… The pencil cases were the biggest steal. Only $1 each at Office Depot! If you order online you will have to take what they ship you. We were able to pick out the colors we wanted by buying in store.
