I’m always looking for new mediums to work with. When I heard an interview on NPR about this book Make Ink: A Forager’s Guide to Natural Inkmaking by Jason Logan, I knew I had to check it out. So far, I’ve just studied a few of the pages, but it definitely looks intriguing. And it’s very beautiful– a great gift idea for an artist in your life. Article here … Book here
In the past year, I have recommended How to Raise an Adult by Julie Lythcott Haims to multiple friends. As a former Dean of Freshman at Stanford, Julie’s experience with stressed-out, high-achieving kids and her own experience as a parent has given her a unique vantage point to the toll over-parenting has had on our current generation of children. I had the opportunity to hear Julie speak in Nashville last night, and would gladly listen to her anytime. She was an engaging, relatable, dynamic speaker. Need some brownies in your life but don’t want to feel guilty about them? These brownies are seriously delicious and made with black beans! I am a dessert snob, but was won over by this recipe. Just make sure to wash those black beans realllly well. Recipe from Ceara’s kitchen here.
